My recent journey through China and Pakistan was an experience that gave me a new perspective on opportunity, identity and wealth. From witnessing China's incredible innovation to reconnecting with my Kashmiri roots in northern Pakistan, I was reminded of how differently opportunity can shape a person's future. Meeting children with vastly different circumstances reinforced something I deeply believe: wealth is about more than money. It's about creating possibilities, empowering others and giving people the freedom to dream bigger.

I recently returned from an incredible trip through China and Pakistan with my sister, and it left me with a whole new perspective.
China felt like stepping into the future. The technology, infrastructure and ease of everyday life were remarkable. Shanghai quickly became one of my favourite cities in the world. It’s a world-class city with incredible entrepreneurial energy. We were also fortunate to have Chinese friends and Pakistani friends who speak Mandarin helping us navigate the country.
Although I grew up in Canada, this was my first time in the motherland. My family is Kashmiri, so traveling through northern Pakistan, surrounded by some of the most breathtaking mountains I’ve ever seen, felt like reconnecting with a part of myself I’d only ever known through stories. We spent days off-grid, visiting villages, schools and connecting with local women and children.
What struck me most was seeing two communities just minutes apart, but worlds apart in opportunity.
In one, a young girl walked hours through the mountains to collect water. In another, where we were told literacy rates reached 98%, children spoke multiple languages and dreamed of becoming surgeons and entrepreneurs. One little girl even asked how she could become a businesswoman like me. We’ve stayed connected ever since.
The difference wasn’t just wealth. It was what these children believed was possible for their futures.
It reminded me why we do what we do at Wealthverse.
Money has never been just about money. It’s about agency and the ability to dream beyond your circumstances.
I came home grateful for the opportunities we have in Canada, inspired by the way they live so connected to nature and to give back and reminded that the greatest value of wealth is what it makes possible.
